Threshold graphs of maximal Laplacian energy
The Laplacian energy of a graph sums up the absolute values of the differences of average degree and eigenvalues of the Laplace matrix of the graph. This spectral graph parameter is upper bounded by the energy obtained when replacing the eigenvalues with the conjugate degree sequence of the graph, in which the i-th number counts the nodes having degree at least i. Because the sequences of eigen...
متن کاملLaplacian Integral Graphs with Maximum Degree 3
A graph is said to be Laplacian integral if the spectrum of its Laplacian matrix consists entirely of integers. Using combinatorial and matrix-theoretic techniques, we identify, up to isomorphism, the 21 connected Laplacian integral graphs of maximum degree 3 on at least 6 vertices.
متن کاملCharacterizing degree-sum maximal nonhamiltonian bipartite graphs
In 1963, Moon and Moser gave a bipartite analogue to Ore’s famed theorem on hamiltonian graphs. While the sharpness examples of Ore’s Theorem have been independently characterized in at least four different papers, no similar characterization exists for the Moon-Moser Theorem. In this note, we give such a characterization, consisting of one infinite family and two exceptional graphs of order ei...
متن کاملMaximizing Maximal Angles for Plane Straight-Line Graphs
Let G = (S,E) be a plane straight line graph on a finite point set S ⊂ R in general position. For a point p ∈ S let the maximum incident angle of p in G be the maximum angle between any two edges of G that appear consecutively in the circular order of the edges incident to p. A plane straight line graph is called φopen if each vertex has an incident angle of size at least φ. In this paper we st...
متن کاملCharacter Degree Graphs That Are Complete Graphs
Let G be a finite group, and write cd(G) for the set of degrees of irreducible characters of G. We define Γ(G) to be the graph whose vertex set is cd(G) − {1}, and there is an edge between a and b if (a, b) > 1. We prove that if Γ(G) is a complete graph, then G is a solvable group.
